My work investigates memory, architecture, cultural preservation, and the relationship between place and material. Working with natural pigments allows each painting to carry not only color, but history.

Over the past year and a half, I have been working between the United States and Morocco, where my practice has developed through direct engagement with architectural space, material, and lived experience. This period of research has inspired a new avenue in my work that brings together painting and tile as complimentary elements.

My connection to Morocco is both personal and historical. Through my grandfathers, sephardic jewish heritage, I began researching a family history shaped by displacement following the Alhambra Decree. This inquiry led me to extending time in Morocco, allowing the work to develop through lived experience rather than observation alone.

The current body of work is centered on interior spaces and the relationship between figures, patterns and architecture. I am developing a process in which painted surface extends beyond the canvas through custom ceramic framing, integrating hand-made Zellige tile into the work itself. The shift introduces a spatial dimension that moves the work closer to installation while remaining grounded in painting
